When it comes to running a product-based business, we know that so much of our business growth is driven by images and the emotion and desire that comes from seeing those images on a website or social media post.

However, What tends to happen with small businesses is that they tend to focus on personal brand photography over product photography. Which isn’t always ideal.

There are a lot of understandable reasons for this, however, the truth is if you can only choose one to start with and you are running a product-based business then you need to ensure your websites products are photographed in a way that suits your brand, fits your target market and are appealing to your ideal customers.

You want to take your business to the next level with amazing, stylish, high-quality images of your products that have your customers reaching for their credit cards.

Why Your Business Needs Product Photography

Too many people think that product photography is purely functional and therefore deserve less attention than personal branding images for your site etc.

If they were seeing your product in a shop they would be able to see it and pick it up. Or try it on and get a physical reaction to it that will encourage them to buy it.

When you sell your products online you need your product photography to do all that for them. They need to still be able to get a proper feel for the product as they would in a shop.

Therefore your image has to do all that and more. Time and time again statistics have shown just how important good product photography is to a business and how it can be the difference between a customer buying from your website or not.

You have to ensure that your product photography shows off all the different colours, styles, sizes, shapes and varieties available. That can produce shots on their own, it can be flat lay photography or lifestyle product photography.

Before you hire your photographer do your research and see what photographer’s style best suits your business branding and which one you have the best connection with.

So now you have the answer to the question “does my business need product photography?” the next question is “does that mean you don’t need a personal brand shoot for your website?”

You want your potential customers to get a real feel for your products and your brand.
