When it’s time to prepare for your brand shoot one of the first things I always do, and recommend my clients do is to use Pinterest for inspiration. But Sometimes that can be overwhelming, so let’s take a look at how to use Pinterest to prepare for your brand shoot.
Use Pinterest To Prepare For Your Brand Shoot
In this blog post I want to take a look at the main ways in which Pinterest can help you decide on the perfect look and feel for your personal branding shoot.
If you don’t already have one then I recommend you set up a pinterest profile as the first step in planning your shoot. You can choose either a personal account or a business account depending on what you are going to use it for.
When it comes to how to use pinterest to help prepare for your brand shoot it’s important to remember we are looking for inspiration not to replicate ideas entirely.
This is actually something I do with my own clients, we have a pinterest session to help them map out how they want their shoot to go. I love doing pinterest planning for client shoots as it gives me such a great understanding!
You are looking for ideas that will help you feel comfortable on shoot day and that helps you put together a shot list but you don’t want to feel like you are just trying to copy someone else’s shoot.
Create a Mood Board
Create a board on Pinterest and call it something like, photoshoot ideas. Then start to pin the types of images that appeal to you, you can pin images and videos depending on what catches your attention and don’t forget to read the pin description as well as it can sometimes be a great source of helpful info as well.
Think about poses, outfits, props, makeup and of course locations that you like and when you see one that appeals to you pin it to your board.
Make it a Group Board
It can be really useful to make your board a collaborative effort and turn it into a group board that you share with your photographer, makeup artist, stylist and anyone else in your team that would be involved in the process leading up to the shoot or on the day itself.
A group board can be a great place to bounce around ideas and help you get everyone on your team on the same page long before the shoot itself starts.
Doing this is one of the best ways to feel confident and prepared for the shoot and can help keep nerves at bay on the day.
And of course it will ensure you get the results you are looking for from the images themselves because everyone has been involved in your vision from the preparation stages.
Don’t Lose Your Why Amongst The Pins
Once you have started your board and started to pin things on it then you will quickly realise that you can easily get distracted by just going pin happy.
As soon as you start to pin ideas for your brand shoot to your pinterest mood board, you will start to get recommended related pins and before you know it you have fallen down the pinterest rabbit hole.
Therefore keep in focus why you are having a personal branding shoot in the first place. To help you attract potential clients, your dream clients and in turn grow your business.
It could be you are going to use the images to help drive traffic to your website through social media or perhaps they will be used on both your social media and your website.
Either way it’s important to keep the reasons at the front of your mind when you are pinning out your mood board.
So those are the main tips when it comes to how to use pinterest to prepare for your brand shoot.
